Texas Hash Recipe
Ingredients:
INGREDIENT 1 medium onion, chopped 4 stalks celery, chopped 1 small green pepper, chopped 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1 1/2 lb medium lean ground beef, (or ground turkey) 1 tsp chili powder 1 can tomatoes, (16 ounce) 1 1/2 cup rice, cooked salt and pepper, to taste 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
Instructions:
Saute the onion,celery,and green pepper in the oil until just tender. Add the meat and cook until it loses its color. Add the chili powder and tomatoes. Cook 10 minutes over medium heat. Stir in the rice,salt and pepper, and warm through. Then turn out into a shallow baking dish, scatter the cheese over the top, and run under the broiler until bubbling.
NOTES : You can also use chili powder to taste and more cheddar cheese on top.
