Sausage & Apple Stuffing [For A 12-Pound Turkey] Recipe
Ingredients:
8 cup White bread, cubed-16 slices 1 lb Sausage meat 1 large Onion, diced 2 large Apples, pared, quartered, Cored, and chopped 1/2 cup Water 1 tsp Salt
Instructions:
1. Spread bread cubes on large cookie sheets; place in oven at 250øF for 10 minutes; remove from oven; reserve.
2. Cut sausage into thick slices. Brown 5 minutes on each side in a medium-size skillet, then break into small pieces. Cook 1 minute longer or until no trace of pink remains. Combine with bread cubes in a large bowl.
3. Pour off drippings from skillet; measure; return 2 tablespoons. Add onions, and saut until tender. Stir in water and apples; heat tp boiling. Pour over sausage mixture; add salt; toss lightly until evenly moist.
Makes approximately 10 cups.
