Pasta With Turkey Sausage & Spicy Tomato Sa Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb Rotini, Twists or Spirals uncooked 8 oz Turkey sausage -(Italian-style), - casings removed 1 large Onion, chopped 1 medium Green bell pepper, chopped 2 Garlic cloves, minced 28 oz Canned tomatoes, chopped with liquid 8 oz Tomato sauce 4 oz Canned mushrooms, drained 1 1/2 tsp Dried basil 1 tsp Dried thyme 1/2 tsp Chili powder 1/2 cup Part-skim mozzarella cheese -(shredded)
Instructions:
Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain.
In Dutch oven or large skillet, cook sausage, onion, green pepper, and garlic over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, basil, thyme, and chili powder. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Pour sauce over pasta and top with cheese.
Each serving provides: 340 Calories; 47.6 g Carbohydrate; 19 g Protein; 9 g Fat; 36.1 mg Cholesterol; 409 mg Sodium. Calories from Fat: 23%
