Low-Fat Winter Barley (2 Pts) Recipe




Ingredients:

1 lb turkey breast, boneless and
skinless, ground
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 1/4 tsps salt
1/2 tsp marjoram
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp pepper
1 can chopped tomatoes, (15 oz)
1/4 cup barley, quick cooking
1 1/2 cup water


Instructions:

1. In a large saucepan, sauté the beef, celery, onions, and green pepper
until the beef is browned, about 15 minutes. Drain.

2. Add the remaining ingredients, except the water, label and freeze.

3. When preparing to serve, thaw and add 1-1/2 cups water. Simmer 30
minutes
covered or until barley is tender.
